Getting up close and personal with today’s leading tech founders: VentureBeat podcast takeover @ Slush
Today marks the first in a six-week podcast series recorded at Slush 2019, the Nordic’s leading startup and investor conference in Helsinki, where VentureBeat took over the Samsung NEXT podcast studio.
Over the course of the two-day conference, VentureBeat’s EU tech correspondent Chris O’Brien hosted sessions with six of tech’s leading founders to get the juicy details on what it was like for them starting out, the opportunities they saw, and the challenges they faced along the way: from pitching products most investors have no understanding or experience with, to creating efficient and sustainable businesses, to envisioning what the future may hold for their respective industries.
This week’s episode features Pieter van der Does, founder and CEO of Adyen, a Dutch payments platform and one of Europe’s biggest success stories. Pieter takes us through the early days of founding the company, how he spotted the window to do something impactful in payments, and how he went on to realise and revolutionise payments for merchants on an international scale for clients like Netflix, eBay, and Facebook.
From today until January we’ll be publishing a new episode every Thursday, check out the full program list below:
